A Flood of Memories

Romantic nights of song and dance
still live within my heart,
and when I recall our ecstasy
a flood of memories start.

In love, we waltzed beneath the moon,
how foolish, I can't deny.
But hand in hand and cheek to cheek
we left the world behind.

Such joy will never come again
for we are young no more,
Though in my dreams I clearly see
the way we were before.

The places where we used to go
have crumbled now with time,
gone has the old seat by the mill
and church bells never chime.

Our love goes back a long long way
maturing with the years like wine -
and hand in hand and side by side
we still leave the world behind.

All Of Me

I'd give you the English language 
if I could show you how every word 
can be used to do good. 
But not even I use it like it should 
because if I did then 
I would be able to explain 
your beauty without feeling misunderstood. 

No word in existence feels quite right
nothing seems to describe your beauty's height. 
Nothing I attempt to write
can explain the feelings you incite.

Even if I try with all my might 
I can't capture your beauty in words I unite.
Me and these words seem to be in a constant fight
I try to tame them and arrange them right. 

To meet this challenge I'd work all day and night
so that  every word fills you with endless delight. 
Until then nothing is worthy of being heard
not until the moment this has occurred:

I touch your inner beauty and cause it to have stirred.
Then in those words your beauty will be preserved
when my poetry finally gives what your beauty deserves.

Always And Forever

As I write, I'll sing this song
for the greatest love I've ever known.
To my heart, you have the only key,
I beg of you, never set me free.

I prayed to God for a love so true
now, I, realize He already knew. 
In time my prayer WAS answered, 
the most wonderful woman
HE BLESSED ME WITH YOU.

What we share feels so right
to say I love you every night.
Wonderful moments shared,
precious memories, still tell me you care.

I see your shadow,
as I lay myself to sleep.
Dreams of you, oh so sweet
in my heart, I will keep.

Look into my heart, my life.
Tell me, what do you see?
can you feel the need, the want, as I
to be your husband, you my wife.

Much joy and happiness you've brought me.
If I had life to live again, I'd want to with you,
my lover, my best friend.
Always and Forever, I'll love you till the end.
